Dear Readers and Friends,
For a long time I delayed publishing a website. A good deal of the delay was my indecision about what I could put on a website that would be interesting and productive for those who came to visit. Along with the catalog of my publications and notions, I wanted to include a place for learning and sharing on my website.
As a teacher, I want to share my ideas and methods with as many as I can. Yet, after approximately twenty years of traveling and teaching, I realize more now than ever how few people I have been able to teach in that time. The Sewing Room is a place where I will, over time, talk about techniques, ideas and my approach to color and design. As many as care to come can now share what I have to offer in The Sewing Room.
Occasionally I get letters and/or e-mails requesting specific information about a particular technique or project. This is where I will start my postings to the Sewing Room. The questions I am asked allow me to focus on a technique or an aspect of quilting in a different way than I do when I write instructions. When responding to the queries I often feel that others could benefit from both the questions and the answers. Recently I received a question about hand quilting. That question and my answer are now posted in The Sewing Room.
Sometimes quilters send me photos of quilts they have completed using my patterns. I welcome and enjoy such correspondence. They illustrate how my designs have helped them develop as quiltmakers. Please feel free to share you quilts and, as quickly as I can, I will post them as well.
Thank you for your continued visits and support.
Jeana
P.S. The above photo is of a lovely needlewoman and gardner I met through quilting. She was an extraordinary woman who shared freely with all who came her way.

Hi Jeana,
I love the new Sewing Room! Megan, Ardie and I talked about you as we had dinner tonight at Ryan’s in Paducah, it doesn’t seem that long ago since you joined us there, wish you were here!
