Catching Up—Again

Whew! This year has simply whizzed by. Some of you have noticed my absence from my journal for the last two months and I have to say—I have no excuse. My absence may be compared to being on a diet and deciding to eat just one brownie—-before one knows it the whole plate of brownies has disappeared and a small taste was all that was planned!

At first, I skipped a couple of weeks of posting in my journal because my work schedule was heavy. When it was definitely time to make an entry, no great ideas of things to write about came to my mind (and no one had complained), so I skipped a few more weeks (still no one complained)…..and, before I knew it two holidays and two months had passed!

However, recently a few of you have given me the hint that you are missing my postings. So here I am—back again with no real reason for being away–just a busy life.

As a brief recap of my lost time, I have spent lots of time with family…..

Stitched very, very little….

The article I wrote for January 2009 issue of The American Quilter was released in early November and work got very busy again…..

Then I was off for a week’s visit with my daughter and family. I came home two days ago with “home work”—-a very long table runner to be machine quilted and returned by mail before Christmas.

Wait a minute….did this hand quilter just say something about machine quilting??

Believe me, I am not a machine quilter, nor do I plan to take it up in the future, but the table runner is not very wide and I am pretty good at sewing straight lines on a sewing machine. So my trusty Singer Featherweight and I are going to be putting in some serious hours over the next few days. I’ll post a picture of the table runner when I finish and tell you the story of my Featherweight.

I am off to get started on the table runner and I promise to keep you posted!

Glad to hear from you. You have been missed. If all it took was someone to complain I would have done it! Glad to hear you have been busy and not ill. I was starting to get worried. I enjoy your journal. Take care and Merry Christmas.
