Long Needles
Longs/Basting needles are used to baste a quilt's layers together prior to hoop or lap quilting. The generous length of these needles promotes speed while their slender shaft provides smooth movement through multiple layers of fabric.
Longs/Tying needles are used for tying quilts. Their large eyes accommodate yarn or crochet cotton and are easily threaded. A solid shaft keeps them from bending and their length provides easy in reaching between ties.
